Croatia captain Darijo Srna was injured in a Ukrainian league match, with full recovery expected in one week's time.

Croatia and Shakhtar Donetsk captain Darijo Srna was forced to leave the field early in the league encounter with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

He was substituted in the ninth minute for muscle injury, and on Sunday was subjected to medical assessment.

His strain proved to be the result of fatigue, and in a couple of days Srna will return to light running exercises. In one week, he is expected to return to full training.

Croatia will meet Gibraltar in Varaždin friendly (7 June), and Italy in a European qualifier (12 June).
