Croatia head coach Ante Čačić spoke to the press after the Budapest draw with Hungary.

On Saturday, Hungary and Croatia finished level due to Mario Mandžukić and Balasz Dzsudzsak goals.

"This was a really competitive match, unlike other friendlies, which is good. In the first half Croatia was the better team, and I was satisfied, but then the tables turned. Hungary started the second half more aggressive, and we were not good enough, we could not control the ball. Therefore, the outcome is fair enough", said Croatia head coach Ante Čačić.

"Now we have to analyze the match and see where to improve. It was clear that we were not aggressive enough in midfield and made too many mistakes, but there were reasons for this, especially the Israel match in difficult weather conditions", he added.

The Hungarians were a more difficult opponent than the Israelis, concluded Čačić, and set sights towards the EURO 2016 in France.

"Hungary has shown why they reached the European Championships, but there are still two months to that tournament, and now we all have to see the squad lists. Our players are also involved in the UEFA club competitions, and it is difficult to define squads. However, these two matches have been useful, we gained information about players' abilities and our options in France".
