Real Madrid, with two Croatian internationals, secured the Champions League final berth.

City rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will face each other in the Champions League final on 28 May in Milan.

Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 1:0 in the semifinal return leg, following the 0:0 stalemate in England the previous week. The only goal of the game was a Fernando own goal after a Bale effort in 20th minute.

Luka Modrić was once again in the Real Madrid starting lineup, and in the 88th minute he was substituted by the other Croatian international, Mateo Kovačić.

In the previous three Champions League finals, Croatia had a representative in the winning team - Mario Mandžukić at Bayern, Luka Modrić at Real Madrid, and Ivan Rakitić at Barcelona.
