Croatia head coach Ante Čačić and man of the match Luka Modrić shared their views on the victory over Turkey.

Ante Čačić and his men celebrated their first win at UEFA EURO 2016, against Turkey at Parc des Princes (1:0).

"This was a good performance, especially after we scored a goal. It is not always easy to score, but we tried to score the second goal as well. I think we have controlled the match throughout the entire 90 minutes. We were well prepared, we are confident, and this was one of the best Luka Modrić performances. However, I want to forget this match as soon as possible, since I fear Czech Republic more than Turkey. I want us to stay focused, we will give 100 percent once again", said Croatia head coach.

The winning goal was scored by midfield hero Luka Modrić in the first half.

"I have struck it well, it was a nice shot. Luckily, it ended up in the net and I am very happy for this, but also for our performance. On the other hand, I do not believe that this goal secures us second round berth, this was just the first step. An important one, a big one, but still just the first. There are two matches left in group stage, and Czech Republic is a tricky opponent. Now we must avoid euphoria, keep up in this rhythm and build our confidence. Croatia was firm, yet playful, with an approach of a great team, but we have to improve match by match", said Modrić.
