Croatia national football team is among the four participants of the inaugural China Cup tournament in January 2017.

China Cup is scheduled from 10 to 15 January 2017 in Guangxi, with Croatia playing alongside host nation China, EURO 2016 sensation and Croatia's opponent in World Cup qualifying Iceland, and the double Copa America winners Chile.

A draw will determine semifinal encounters, with two winners to play in the final, while the losing sides will meet in the third-place match.

"Numerous players and coaches have made Croatia famous throughout the world, and they are highly respected in China as well. We look forward to this opportunity and the chance to promote Croatian football in China. I hope that China Cup will open more doors for our players and coaches to assist in development of Chinese football", said Croatian Football Federation president Davor Šuker.
