Croatia international Ivan Rakitić signed a contract extension with Spanish giants, confirming his respectable status at Camp Nou.

Coming from Sevilla in summer of 2014, leaving behind a captain's armband, Ivan Rakitić won eight out of ten possible trophies with Barcelona, including two domestic league titles, two Copa del Reys, one domestic supercup, a Champions League title, a European Supercup, and a Club World Championship.

Contributing significantly to each and every success - even scoring in the Champions League final vs. Juventus - Rakitić agreed on Friday to a new contract that ties him up to 30 June 2021.

This renewal helped Rakitić celebrate his 29th birthday, just two days following the great Barcelona comeback against PSG in Champions League.

Rakitić, with 82 caps and 13 goals for Croatia, developed his club career through Basel, Schalke, and Sevilla, up to Barcelona.
