Duje Čop and Fran Tudor secured Croatia's victory in front of over 60,000 fans at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and Croatia head coach Ante Čačić commented:

"I congratulate my players, they played their hearts out and were adequately rewarded. This is an important victory that will be long remembered. This selection of players is very talented, full of potential. We also congratulate Mexico, a quality team. Our first half was very good, after convincing the players that they can present their quality in such a nice atmosphere".

Čačić also referred to media criticism before the visit to the United States:

"I am extremely happy for these players, since they have proved that they have a right to be here. We have silenced everyone who did not believe in this teams. The opportunity was given to players that are not often a part of the national team, and they wore the jersey with passion, securing a historic win in the first Croatia's match on North American soil".

The head coach was thankful to all the Croatia fans supporting the team in Los Angeles:

"Congratulations to everyone who came to support us from different areas of United States. We have witnessed their enthusiasm, even though this was not the complete Croatia team. They have managed to be our 12th player, and I am glad we gifted them this win. Their help was immense".
