Croatia defender Tin Jedvaj has to miss out on the beginning of the new season due to right shin injury.

Tin Jedvaj suffered a knock at the Bayer Leverkusen training session on Thursday and was diagnosed with hairline fracture in his right shin.

Croatia international will avoid surgery, but has to recover for approximately ten weeks. Therefore, Croatia head coach Ante Čačić will not be able to include him in the squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Turkey in September.

Croatia national team medical staff is also in contact with Tin Jedvaj.

Jedvaj has nine Croatia caps, and appeared in the two last matches - a friendly against Mexico in Los Angeles and the Iceland qualifier in Reykjavik.
