As his contract with Dynamo Kiev expired, Domagoj Vida has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Turkish giants Besiktas.

Turkish champions Besiktas, who won two consecutive league titles, has strengthened its defence with Croatia international Domagoj Vida.

Vida joins Besiktas on free transfer following the Dynamo Kiev contract expiry. In Ukraine, from 2013, Vida won two league titles, two domestic cups and one supercup, and was occasionally selected as the team captain.

His club career begun at Jedinstvo Donji Miholjac and Osijek, and then embarked to Bundesliga joining Bayer Leverkusen. Later on, he returned to Croatia, to Dinamo Zagreb.

At Besiktas, Vida will join forces with another Croatia defender, Matej Mitrović. Vida was capped 55 times, scoring two goals.

"I decided to come to Besiktas while I was still signed up with Dynamo Kiev. While waiting for my contract to expire, I followed the Besiktas from close-range and saw how great they were, especially in the Champions League. From now on, I will battle for my new team Besiktas and help them go much further in Europe", Vida said.
