Croatia international Šime Vrsaljko signed a new contract with his current employer.

Atletico Madrid and Šime Vrsaljko agreed upon an one-year contract extension, signing a deal that expires 30 June 2022.

Thus, Croatia right-back confirmed his status at Diego Simeone's team after he joined from Italian side Sassuolo a year and a half ago.

"I am very happy to be able to continue growing here. I feel very comfortable and the only thing I'm thinking about is working every day to be important to the team", said Vrsaljko upon signing the contract.

Vrsaljko made his debut for Croatia in February 2011. Later on, he was capped 32 times in total, defending national team colours at both FIFA World Cup in Brazil and UEFA EURO in France.
