Dalić names Croatia squad for matches against Slovakia and Azerbaijan

Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalić has named the 23 players who will be travelling to Slovakia and Azerbaijan for the Vatreni's forthcoming challenges on the road to EURO 2020.

The world vice-champions will open the fall section of the European Qualifiers with two away matches, the first of which will take place on September 6 against Slovakia in Trnava, while the second match will be played on September 9 against Azerbaijan in Baku.

Head coach Zlatko Dalićhas called up 23 players for these matchdays, with captain Luka Modrićat their helm. Winger Mislav Oršićof Dinamo Zagreb is a new name on the squad list and has just received his first national team call-up, while Dalić has also issues six stand-by call-ups, including Andrej Kramarić– who will join the team if his current injury can be mitigated in time for the matches.

If necessary, Dalić will also call on additional players from the Croatian U-21 team, which will be coordinated with Nead Gračan.

The Croatian national team will meet on September 2 in Zagreb, where they will train until their departure to Slovakia – on September 5.

Defenders: Domagoj Vida, Dejan Lovren, Tin Jedvaj, Matej Mitrović, Borna Barišić, Karlo Bartolec, Mile Škorić, Dario Melnjak

Midfielders: Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Mateo Kovačić, Milan Badelj, Marcelo Brozović, Mario Pašalić, Nikola Vlašić

Forwards: Ivan Perišić, Ante Rebić, Josip Brekalo, Bruno Petković, Mislav Oršić

Stand-by call-ups: Andrej Kramarić, Marko Rog, Filip Benković, Mijo Caktaš, Josip Juranović, Antonio Mirko Čolak
