The new collection brings together Croatia’s rich football heritage and modern technological innovation, drawing clear inspiration from one of the defining moments in the nation’s football history – the 1990 match against the United States, when Croatia, on the eve of gaining independence, played its first match in modern history. That sense of pride, unity and patriotism is woven into the design of the new kits.
"The new kits carry a strong connection to that historic match against the United States, which has great symbolic value, especially considering that last year marked the 35th anniversary of that unforgettable game, while the United States is one of the host countries of this year’s tournament. It is important to preserve the memory of those events, matches and individuals who built the history of Croatian football, and I am confident that both our players and fans will wear this kit with pride. Once again, it highlights what makes the Croatian national team so special, with its iconic checkered pattern", said Croatian Football Federation President Marijan Kustić.

The First kit features Croatia’s iconic red-and-white checkered pattern in a more refined, smaller-scale execution, inspired by the original 1990 design but adapted to the demands of the modern game. The Second kit introduces a dark blue version with tonal checkers, creating a strong and elegant visual identity that complements the First kit.
"Although I’ve had the honour of wearing the most beautiful shirt in the world 194 times, that moment is still special and precious to me, because I know what the Croatian national team means to every Croatian player and our fans. This shirt strongly reminds me of the one from 1990, and we have all seen those historic moments countless times when this incredible story of Croatian football began. I find this design truly inspiring – it reminds me of the great players who laid the foundations of our current success. The kit is modern, light and comfortable, but most importantly, it preserves what matters most – the recognisable Croatian identity. We will wear it with great pride, as always", said captain Luka Modrić.

A special detail inside the jersey features the message "Family", symbolising the unity of the team, its fans and the entire nation.
The new kits are developed using Nike’s innovative Aero-FIT technology, which enables optimal ventilation and body temperature regulation in demanding playing conditions. Through the use of advanced materials and recycling processes, the kits are also part of a more sustainable approach to sportswear production.
The new kits are available via the official Croatian Football Federation shop, as well as in Sport Vision stores. For the first time, fans will also be able to purchase a goalkeeper kit alongside the First and Second versions. The red-and-white kit will make its on-pitch debut on March 26 against Colombia, while the Vatreni will first wear the new blue kit on March 31 against Brazil.
