Croatian international Ivan Rakitić, the captain of Sevilla FC, received the award for the best player of Primera Division in January.

Ivan Rakitić's excellent performances for Sevilla FC earned him the official award for the best player of Primera Division in January.

"This award gives me more motivation and enthusiasm to continue in the same way. I have to thank my teammates and coaching staff, to everyone working with me. I hope to win this award again soon", said the 25-year-old midfielder, the captain of Sevilla FC.

Rakitić played 20 times in Primera Division this season, scoring ten goals, with nine assists. In addition, he scored twice in Europa League, assisting four time in nine matches.
