Due to his renewed ankle injury, Ivan Močinić will miss the World Cup in Brazil, and head coach Niko Kovač turns back to Milan Badelj.

Croatian national team medical staff has sent the complete medical documentation regarding Ivan Močinić to FIFA. If FIFA approves the move, Milan Badelj will join his teammates in Brazil.

Croatia head coach Niko Kovač explained:

"I have spoken to Ivan Močinić since he has renewed his ankle injury, that requires two or three weeks to recover. We have to do what is best for the national team, but what is best for the lad and his club as well. Therefore, Močinić was ruled out".

"Considering Milan Badelj, the documentation has been sent to FIFA and Badelj will join us upon FIFA approval", he said.

Providing the FIFA Medical Committee authorization, Milan Badelj will reunite with the team on 13 June.
