Current Spanish champions Atletico Madrid clinched the domestic Supercup title, with Mario Mandžukić scoring the game-winning goal.

In the first leg played on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid managed a 1:1 draw, and on Friday night the second leg was scheduled at Vicente Calderon. Croatian internationals Mario Mandžukić and Luka Modrić were among the starting XI in their respective teams.

Less than two minutes into the match, Mario Mandžukić hit a low shot from the edge of the box past Iker Casillas.

That proved to be the only goal of the game, thus handing the Supercup title to Atletico Madrid.

Mario Mandžukić was substituted in the 84th minute, while Luka Modrić was sent off shortly into added time for a second bookable offence.
