Ante Rebić and Gordon Schildenfeld will miss the following national team matches due to injuries, with Matej Mitrović called up as a replacement.

Croatia and Panathinaikos defender Gordon Schildenfeld was ruled out of upcoming Argentina friendly and Italy qualifier after leaving the field early in tonight's Greek league match with PAOK.

Schildenfeld renewed this foot injury, and Croatia head coach Niko Kovač decided to call up 20-year-old Rijeka defender Matej Mitrović, who already represented Croatia in various youth categories. This is his first call-up to the senior squad.

RB Leipzig striker Ante Rebić was also ruled out, due to persistent shoulder injury. Rebić is to continue with his treatment at the German club.

"Rebić is currently not in the full training process and can not be at our disposal. It is best for the player to get better as soon as possible and be ready for the following challenges", said Kovač.
