Croatian international Luka Modrić is on the road to full recovery from his thigh injury.

Real Madrid midfielder was injured at San Siro, in Croatia's EURO 2016 qualifier against Italy last November.

After three-month injury break, Luka Modrić returned to the European champions' training sessions, joining in practice the players that were not in the starting lineup against Schalke on Wednesday.

Croatian international will miss the Sunday league match against Elche, but could get an opportunity to return to the field at Santiago Bernabeu on 1 March, against Villarreal.

During the previous months, Luka Modrić missed 21 Real Madrid matches, including his team's triumph at the FIFA Club World Cup in December.
